ROHACELL® RIMA

Minimal resin uptake for lightweight, high-performance components

ROHACELL® RIMA is a closed cell rigid foam based on polymethacrylimide (PMI) chemistry, which contains no CFCs. The fine cell structure of ROHACELL ® RIMA has been specially designed to ensure the minimum possible uptake of resin. This is approximately 50 g/m², which allows the end weight of the component to remain extremely low. The thermal and thermomechanical properties of the rigid foam are otherwise similar to those of ROHCAELL® WF.

  • ROHACELL® S is a closed-cell rigid foam based on polymethacrylimide (PMI) chemistry, which contains no CFCs. ROHACELL® S rigid foam is self-extinguishing and particularly suitable for applications in rail vehicle and watercraft construction, as well in the aeronautic industry. ROHACELL® S can be processed using pre-pregs and all common vacuum infusion methods, RTM and VARTM. Pressures of up to 0.35 PMa are permissible at a temperature of 130°C. The thermo-formability of ROHACELL® provides a tremendous manufacturing advantage.

  • ROHACELL® IG and ROHACELL® IG-F products are closed-cell rigid foams based on polymethacrylimide (PMI) chemistry, which contains no CFCs. The “IG” in ROHACELL® IG stands for “Industrial grade.” It is the standard product in our range of rigid foams and is suitable for a wide variety of automotive, medical and industrial applications.
